Our Physical, Occupational, Speech, and Developmental Therapists help children work through mobility, language, or functional issues, and Our Child & Family Counseling professionals can coach the whole family through the journey of working with a special needs child.
Our Professional Family Counseling Philosophy
Our Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPCs) provide a range of family counseling services to help the entire support network of children with special needs. We empathize with the complicated issues that families face when it comes to a child’s behavior, communication style, and developmental level, and we work hard to provide your family with the tools to understand and assist your child throughout his or her growth.
Working with children and their families in the comfort of their own home, our LCPCs focus heavily on developing the social-emotional skills of the child while carefully imparting our knowledge and techniques to the entire family. Depending on the child, we may use one of a variety of evaluation methods and treatment models. These include the Achenbach Child Behavior Checklist, Carey Temperament Scales, Early Coping Inventory, Functional Emotional Assessment Scale (FEAS), Infant-Toddler Social and Emotional Assessment (ITSEA), Temperament & Atypical Behavior Scale (TABS), and the Vineland Social Emotional Early Childhood Scale.
After our careful evaluation, we will design a tailored course of action for the whole family. Our goal is not just to help your family intimately understand the child’s diagnosis, but also to aid your family in developing communication skills and techniques that will help your child thrive.
