North Region Team Lead

Anne joins Shining Star Therapy with 15+ years of experience working with children and families in Illinois. She spent the past four years in Early Intervention, serving as the Infant Mental Health Consultant and a Parent Liaison for one of the largest Child and Family Connections offices in the State. In addition, she has worked as a Program Manager for a Youth Service Center, overseeing an emergency placement shelter and working on an interdisciplinary team to review and assess and meet the needs of children, and she has provided school social work services to elementary, high school, and alternative school students. Anne’s skill set also includes a gift for identifying and mobilizing community-based resources to help families help their child reach optimal development. Anne participates in several committees and boards dedicated to the welfare of children, and gives presentations to groups on topics such as Working with Families and Identity Development in Children.


Speech-Language Pathologist, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

After earning her Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Southeast Missouri State University in May 2017, Amy relocated to Chicago. Her clinical experience while earning both degrees included stints specializing in receptive/expressive language; cognitive communication; social communication, AAC; voice; swallowing; and fluency.
Immediately prior to joining Shining Star Therapy, Amy completed an 8-week rotation in Early Intervention.

Ashley J., D.P.T.

Doctorate of Physical Therapy, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

Ashley joins Shining Star Therapy with a background that includes research; clinical experience in rehab and clinic settings; and experience in private practice. She has evaluated and treated patients, collaborated with occupational therapists and other physical therapists to ensure the effective treatment of patients, and assisted with the purchasing of supplies for a pediatric practice. In addition, her service learning/volunteer experiences include (but are not limited to!) working as an aide for a disabled child; working with the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes Program; and working with the Casting Clinic of the Rehabilitation Institute.

Claire L., M.A., CCC-SLP/L

Speech Language Therapist, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

As a speech language pathologist, Claire brings a diverse background to Shining Star. She specializes in articulation, language, and communication disorders, and has extensive experience working with children with autism. As a military spouse Claire has lived and practiced in a range of locations in both Ireland and the U.S., serving in settings such as acute care, outpatient rehabilitation, and schools. After eight moves in 13 years, she is excited to now be in the Chicago area!

Speech Language Therapist, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

While earning her undergraduate degree in communication sciences and disorders, Emily launched her career as a classroom aide administering therapy to children with autism. From there she went to work for a mental health provider in the Chicago area, ultimately enrolling in Northwestern University’s speech, language and learning program. Her clinical experience includes serving as a speech and language pathology teacher; a clinician at The Northwestern University Center for Audiology, Speech, Language and Learning; and a therapist at a private pediatric therapy clinic.

Occupational Therapist, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

Hannah is a Certified Early Intervention Specialist with well over a decade of treating pediatrics. She is a Registered and Licensed Occupational Therapist who graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has worked in a variety of pediatric settings, including residential facilities, schools, and outpatient pediatric clinics. She enjoys working with both children and their families to help them meet and exceed their goals, be it managing a physical disability or hitting an educational benchmark. Hannah’s areas of expertise include developmental delay, fine motor delay, sensory processing difficulties, autism, cerebral palsy, prematurity, hemiplegia, stroke, and traumatic brain injury. She is enthusiastic about Shining Star’s home-based approach to therapy, and looks forward to applying her experience and creativity to the Early Intervention population and their families.

Jeannie T., M.O.T., OTR/L

Occupational Therapist, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

It’s early in Jeannie’s career but the fieldwork and classroom experiences she brings to the Shining Star Therapy team are impressive! She has worked in an Early Intervention and Pediatric Outpatient Clinic, an Inpatient Mental Health department of a major hospital, rehab clinic, elementary school, and a skilled-nursing, long-term care facility. In addition, Jeannie has interned with organizations dedicated to helping the disabled and economically disadvantaged. These activities, along with her hands-on experience evaluating and treating children, as well as collaborating with other early intervention providers, made her a perfect candidate to join our company.

Speech Language Pathologist, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

Katelyn knew at the start of her career that she wanted to work with children. Her clinicals included stints in an early childhood language/literacy center, a Head Start Program, elementary schools and other environments serving children. In addition, as an undergraduate she worked as a research assistant studying children’s syntax and morphology, and as a graduate student worked in a language/literacy center educating families and teaching undergraduates. Kately joined Shining Star Therapy as an Early Intervention specialist, excited to be part of a progressive company with state-of-the-art resources and a paperless work environment!

Kathleen S., M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

Since she earned her Master’s degree, Kathleen has worked as a Speech Language Pathologist with pediatrics in a variety of settings – schools, hospitals, skilled nursing and learning centers. Recently she managed the Speech Therapy caseload at a 248-bed subacute care and long-term care facility, responsible for screening, evaluating and implementing treatment plans. Her early professional experiences include working and volunteering as a classroom assistant, therapist and mentor to at-risk youth girls. The children she’s served had a variety of needs, diagnoses, medical complexities and levels of severity. Kathleen’s passion is ensuring that each individual’s needs are met.

Occupational Therapist, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

Kristle recently moved to the Chicago area from Las Vegas. She has specialized in Early Intervention and Pediatrics since the start of her career. She brings experience in both home health and outpatient pediatric therapy, working with children and adults. Specifically, Kristle has worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Spina Bifida. In her free time she has dedicated countless hours to volunteering for various organizations and events, from a food bank to a women’s and children’s shelter.

Occupational Therapist, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

Megan is an Occupational therapist and Certified Early Intervention Specialist. She graduated from Western Michigan University with BS in Interdisciplinary Health Services, and an MS in Occupational Therapy. She has a passion for working with children and has worked in a variety of settings for more than 6+ years, including sub-acute care, outpatient clinics, and schools. Megan’s areas of interest and expertise include sensory processing differences, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cerebral palsy, developmental delay, low vision, and hemiplegia/ stroke. She believes all children should be given the tools to succeed and strives daily to help children achieve their potential.

Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

Rejani is a Physical Therapist who is motivated by providing excellent patient care for the pediatric population with physical disabilities and functional limitations. She received a BS in Kinesiology and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland. She has vast experience with both inpatient and outpatient services, and has a passion for treating Cerebral Palsy, multi-level trauma, brain injury, burns, developmental delays, and musculoskeletal issues.

Speech-Language Pathologist, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

Samantha is a Speech-language pathologist with a B.S. in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Colorado University. She has a wide range of clinical experience including working at schools, private practice, home, acute care and outpatient rehabilitation settings. She thrives on being able to care for those of all ages and disorders from pediatric to geriatric. She specializes in articulation, language, and cognitive delays and strives to enhance the developmental process through speech-language services in order to improve quality of life and provide children with the opportunity to reach their maximum potential.

Speech Language Pathologist, Certified Early Intervention Specialist

Saundra brings six years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist to Shining Star Therapy. She has worked with pre-school, elementary school and middle school children in districts in Illinois, California, and most recently, Hawaii. Her experience includes preparing IEPs, leading IEP meetings, educating co-workers, conducting screenings, and serving as part of interdisciplinary teams. She has worked with adults in skilled nursing facilities/rehab centers as well. Saundra is excited to now specialize in Early Intervention back in her home state of Illinois.

Stephanie is a team-oriented occupational therapist who holds a B.S. from Grand Valley State University and a Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Governor’s State University. Her therapeutic experience extends to hospital, outpatient rehabilitation, and educational settings, and she has worked with both children and adults from a variety of backgrounds. Whether she’s assessing a disorder, planning a treatment, or communicating with a child’s family members, Stephanie is dedicated to promoting independence in all children via the careful development of functional living skills.
